Through a fluid and dynamic relationship with leaders, commerce, media and service providers, the SPANISH CONNECTION has established a network of trust, which facilitates a positive and effective communication with the Hispanic Community as well as with its clients.

Personnel

Ana Sieber is a native of Argentina and a naturalized US citizen; she has lived in this country since 1974. Ana attended Buenos Aires University (Argentina) where she majored in Anthropology. While at the University she took college level coursework in English and private lessons in Portuguese, Italian and French. Ana received among others, an English to Spanish Translation Certificate from UNESCO, as well as a Certificate in Spanish Normative Grammar, from the Bank of Boston, Indiana University-Purdue University English Grammar Certificate, Diploma di Merito in Italiano (Italian Language Course), Dean Vaughn Learning System Applied to Medical Terminology. Prior to starting the SPANISH CONNECTION in 1985, Ana worked as a translator/interpreter for Lincoln National Life Insurance Co., International Department, and as a translator/executive assistance for the International Baseball Association. Ana has been engaged in community projects, such as The Eiteljorg Museum Hispanic Council, a member since its foundation in 1996, helping in with planning, marketing, and education of Hispanic events/exhibits. She is also a member of Marion County First Steps Common Ground Committee since its establishment in 1998. Ana has helped with the outreach and education to and about the Hispanic/Latino Community in Indianapolis, such as a Conference (June 2000) focusing on Cultural, Educational and Health Care Practices. Ana served as cultural liaison for the Argentine Association of Indiana.

Jim Sieber, Consultant, is a United States native fully bicultural and bilingual through his grade school and high school education and more than 25 years of living in Argentina. He has a BA in Sociology from Eastern Mennonite University. He has recently joined Ana as a full-time associate, bringing to the SPANISH CONNECTION his language and managerial expertise through more than 15 years of serving the Hispanic community of Indiana within the governmental and non-profit arena as well as various volunteer opportunities. Jim recently left, after 9 years of service, Rural Opportunities, Inc. (ROI), a national migrant farmworker/Hispanic governed non-profit organization focusing on Social Services, Housing and Economic Development. At ROI, he was a Housing Technical Assistance Manager for 7 years, managing the Indiana office of Housing and Economic Development, which provided capacity building and development TA to other rural non-profits. During the last two years, he was Deputy Director for Homeownership Programs for Indiana. In this position, he was instrumental in developing and implementing a successful Hispanic homeownership outreach program. He is the founder and present Director of Club Deportivo Latino, a sports club for inner-city children. He was a former member of the Indianapolis Mayor’s Hispanic Task Force and previous President of the Argentine Association, Board Member of the Hispanic Center, and Member of the Governors Task Force on Migrant Affairs.

A network of other highly qualified language associates provide the SPANISH CONNECTION with the capacity to handle projects of diverse nature and volume.
